biography
Andrey Nikolayevich Vankov was born in Kurgan on February 5, 1967. He graduated from Art School №1 in 1983. In 1987 he graduated from Sverdlovsk Art School named after I. I. D. Shadra. From 1987 to 1989 - served in the Soviet Army. In 1995 he graduated from the graphic faculty of the St. Petersburg State Academic Institute of Painting, Architecture and Sculpture named after I. I.E. Repin (workshop of A.A.Pakhomov). From 1997 to 2000 - postgraduate studies at the Institute. I.E. Repin. Along with that In 1998-1999 he taught composition there.
Since 1991, a member of the creative association "Sgraffito" (St. Petersburg Humanitarian Fund "Free Culture"). Participant of more than 50 personal and group exhibitions in Russia and abroad. Author of several unique books published by the Rare Book of St. Petersburg publishing house.
In 2002 he was ordained a priest in the Kurgan diocese. In 2006, he painted the church in the name of the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos "Seven-shot" in the settlement. Lebyazhye. Since 2007 - cleric of the Epiphany Church in Kurgan.
For 20 years, Andrey Vankov has been continuing to actively engage in secular painting and book graphics.

The artist's works are in the collection of the State Hermitage, the Manege Museum of Contemporary Art (St. Petersburg), the Museum of Contemporary Art (Sosnovy Bor), the M.P. Mussorgsky (Velikie Luki), the Municipal Cultural Center (Vress, Belgium), the Benois Museum of the Peterhof State Museum-Reserve (St. Petersburg), as well as in private collections in Belgium, Holland, France and Russia.
